Refining the data

When we first created Subjectlin.es we were keen to show all the data that we had collected from over a million inboxes. But as it turns out that is not the most useful thing for discovering the best subject line to use. Based on your feedback we’ve been busy making the data more relevant. So we have removed a lot of the “noise” so you will no longer see subject lines that were cc’s, forwards or password reset reminders. Which seemed to garner the most feedback from you as being irrelevant.

We’ve also put you in control of what subject lines to show, based on the number of emails that were sent with it. If you are only interested in seeing what the big campaigns are doing you can select the minimum to 1000, need more detail then 100 is your middle option or 10 gives you fine grain control. It’s easy to switch between them using the “Narrow Results” panel.

New in Subjectlines: Saved Searches

We really like getting your feedback during the Subjectlin.es Beta, and you have not been shy at letting us know how we can improve it. So I am delighted to introduce the first of several improvements, the ability to save searches.

After crafting a search that shows you the insight you were looking for, be it checking up on your competitors, or seeing what is working in your industry you can now save that search to reuse the next time you visit Subjectlin.es! But here’s the really cool part, you can also get Subjectlin.es to run the search weekly and email you the results. Keep up to date without lifting a finger!

Well ok you may have to lift a couple of fingers to set it up, but even that is super easy. When you have finished refining your search, just click on the “Save this search” pull down, and enter a name for your masterpiece.

If you want the results to be emailed to you every Sunday, then click on the “Saved Searches” link next the main search window.

and turn on Email Updates.

Then once a week Subjectlines will send you an email with the results of your saved searches.
